VISION
We see individuals and organizations committed to the blocks around them and collaborating for the wellbeing of their neighborhoods.
MISSION
We support place-focused individuals and organizations through training and connection as they seek the thriving of their communities.
PRACTICES & PLACES
“Building Blocks of Peace” has a dual meaning that brings attention to PRACTICES that ‘make peace happen’ and the PLACES we are committed to.
How do we ‘show up’ in the places that we live?
How can we join the work in our own block / neighborhood / community and collaborate for the wellbeing of our neighbors?
FAITHFUL PRESENCE
This is a core concept of Building Blocks of Peace. We define it as:
“Seeking the wellbeing of our blocks and neighborhoods through consistent, positive presence in proximity to our homes, organizations, and places of need.”
Where do you have ‘faithful presence’?
What is the scale of your geographic committment?
MULTI-SECTOR COLLABORATION
Building Blocks of Peace seeks to connect, celebrate, and support individuals and groups from various social sectors who are:
- working for peace and community health, and
- committed to specific geographies (blocks, neighborhoods, beats, districts, etc)
What does collective action for thriving neighborhoods look like?
